Why you should ‘shoot yourself’ in the head for not cloaking affiliate link

Whenever I see an affiliate link that’s not cloaked, I start to wonder how much this person is losing his/her commission on a daily basis. Before we go into the detail of cloaking your Clickbank affiliate link, let’s get it straight what is cloaking?

Well, cloaking is referring to the masking your original url using something like an alias. You do not want people to know what your affiliate id is for fear of others stealing your commission.

There are at least 2 main type of cloaking used commonly by affiliates.

  1. Cloaking the url using php
  2. Cloaking the url using encryption code

Both either method act as an additional wall people need to climb in order to steal in your house.

I would recommend you using the url given in resources section to cloak your affiliate link. Never let your hard work go into the hands of online thieves. Refer to below for an online version of affiliate cloaking which retain your website url yet masking your affiliate link. Making it almost 99% undetectable. Try it out.

What is Clickbank Calculator?

I have mention before that ClickBank charges a 7.5% of the product price plus $1 per sale which is deducted from your commission. Therefore, you need a calculator to determine how much affiliate commission is made and the amount a vendor earned from each sale.

Thankfully, there are lots of free clickbank tool online. But for the purpose of consistency, we will use CBEngine.com calculator. Point to note: There are also refund rate and reversal commission calculator. Refer to below.
